I read somewhere that Anthony Andrews was going to be cast in one of the roles for the Professionals but they felt the chemistry wouldn't work with Lewis Collins.

I am a massive nerd when it comes to all things Professionals/Sweeney/Minder.
I love the sexism in the 70s stuff, really funny and totally un pc.

Liked the episode with the professionals where they were investigating a police force who kept their town very tight
Gave the local gay group a hiding for trying to set up shop
The best episode sadly banned was the KKK one they made
Showed bodie in a good ligght

The KKK one is a great episode, I saw it online years ago.
I like the one where Pamela Stephenson has a hand grenade down her top and Bodie has to rip it off......cue lecherous stares!!!

Did anyone here play Sweeney at school?
You'd mob into 2s or 3s pick a villain (a mongy kid) and Sweeney him which meant pushing him up against a wall, yelling "you're nicked" and giving him a gentle (as in not going all out) kicking.
The teachers were all against it. They didn't mind the kicking but hated being yelled at.

Andrews started filming / rehearsing with Shaw but they canned it due to bad chemistry.
If you get the BluRay's it has loads of insight and extras, including the, banned, 'Klansman' episode. Love it!

Watched an episode of The Professionals a while back, no sure which one but it was centred around a bowling club in, I believe, "south London".
It just seemed to get more & more camp as it progressed. Could have been a pantomime by the time the end credits rolled.

Funny I was watching UK gold and they showed the same episode I can distinctly remember as a kid with Patrick Mower playing an Aussie crook.
